Application for Eligibility for Status of Residence

Instead of applying to the Japan Embassy in your country, you can apply for the Eligibility for Status of Residence to the Immigration Bureau in Japan to acquire the recognition by the Minister of Justice, then, you have the Japan Embassy or Consulate in your country issue the visa prior to the landing to Japan. Presenting the visa at the port or airport immigration will make the entry far easier.
