Extra caution required for US immigrant visas

This is Stephanie of IMS.

On September 11, 2018, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) put into effect a policy that will affect most immigration and Green Card applications. Under this new policy, applications can be rejected for missing information or errors, even minor. Instead of issuing a Request for Evidence (RFE) or Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID), which allow applicants to submit more documentation and correct information, USCIS will now be allowed to reject applications without an appeal. This means that even minor errors can cause an application to be denied, with no opportunity to send in a correction.

It goes without saying, but for all visa applications, please be extra vigilant in submitting a complete and accurate application.
